We Salute You, Amen

This poem is for all our fellow women, and all the men

who fight in our wars, who pull together and take a stand.

who fight for our country, no matter the cost.

Those that die as they fight for the cause.

To those that dont come home, and those that do,

after victory, or defeat.

Knowing they are heroes, even if they were beat.Because the fought for their countrythey took a standThe fought for our rights.

Safe

One nation in mourning, still wondering why?

hate went one step too far, when it crossed the line.

Heroes and victims, caught in a sensless act

a nation in wonder as we got all the facts.

a senseless act of hate on us all

but we didnt take it laying down, our nation held strong.

nothing else mattered, not color or race

we all stood together, same look on our face

we stood tall no matter how they tried to put us down

we stood together one nation under god

Each year we remember and take the time

to remember what happen, still asking why

praying for the families, and all the men

who gave their lives and would do it again

september 11th, a day in history

that hate crossed the line not only for you and me

We all have our own view of that day, memories all unique

But we all wanted the same thing… one nation full of peace.

No matter what our views are, or religion that we choose

one things remains the same we all heard the same news.

Silently i prayed, tears streamed down my face

for my brother in new york… i could still see his face.

Hearing his voice, tears still came

not everyone would get the call that their loved ones were safe.A day of hate came crashing down on us from abovea nation pulled together…. when push came to shove…..
